These keto cheesy breadsticks are the perfect marriage of garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, and breadsticks all in one! Let’s take a little break from the dessert recipes with this ultimate comfort food, made totally low-carb and keto-friendly. Only 2g net carbs and 8g of protein!
A different variation on the classic keto recipe “fat head dough” which uses cheese to create the texture of elasticity in the dough, it works even more perfectly in this recipe because it embraces the flavor of the cheese as well. Nothing better than cheesy bread, in my opinion.
You’ll just need a few simple ingredients:
- shredded mozzarella cheese
- cream cheese
- almond flour – I recommend using finely ground blanched (skins removed) almond flour for best results
- baking powder
- egg
- fresh garlic – sauté before adding to your dough
- garlic salt
You can mix up the dough in a food processor, which can make the mixing process a little easier, or by hand. You’ll start by melting the mozzarella and cream cheese together, then adding in the remaining ingredients until a thick dough forms.
To create the twists, just roll the dough into small skinny logs, then fold them in half and twist each half together.

Keto Cheesy Breadsticks
Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 2 cups blanched almond flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1 clove fresh garlic sautéed
- 1/4 tsp garlic salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Combine mozzarella and cream cheese in a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals until melted enough to stir. Sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add almond flour, baking powder, egg, and sautéed garlic, and stir or process in food processor until smooth dough forms.
- Divide dough into 14 equal pieces. Use your hands to form each piece into a thin log, then fold each log in half and twist the two halves together.
- Place each twist on a parchment lined baking sheet, sprinkle with garlic salt, and bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Dip in marinara or sauce of choice, and enjoy!
